Patricia A. Taylor (better known as Tricia) was born October 23, 1960 to John A. and Mary Brown Taylor in Gadsden, Alabama. Her family moved to Birmingham, Alabama in 1961 and she called Birmingham her home until her death on November 15, 2019. Tricia fought a very courageous battle against Glioblastoma Brain Cancer with the strength and determination of a warrior. She was 59 years old. Tricia is survived by her parents, her sister Lynn Kicker (Douglas), life partner Jennifer Whitaker, niece Adrienne Kicker-Goubeaud (Luke), nephew Aaron Kicker, great niece Livie Kicker and great nephews Jasper Goudeaud and Charlie Gilbert.
Tricia attended The Brooke Hill School, graduated from Woodlawn High School and was a proud Lifetime Alumni of Auburn University (1986) with a B.S. in Building Science. She was “Auburn born and raised” and attended Auburn football games every year since she was 4 years old. After graduating, she worked for Brasfield and Gorrie Construction where she was their first female Project Manager. She later worked for Capstone Development and Stone Building. In 2012 Tricia started Construction Services Group, LLC along with her sister Lynn. Tricia also developed some properties around Smith Lake and built several homes there. Tricia could build anything! She has left her mark on the city of Birmingham as well as several other areas of the state of Alabama.
A fierce competitor describes Tricia’s nature which drove her to be an avid golfer. She was a member of the LPGA Amateur Golf Association and played in their Regional and National Tournaments for many years. Not many people can say they won a car by making a hole in one, but Tricia could!
Golf was not her only passion. She loved Smith Lake and was an avid boater and skier. Smith Lake was her “Happy Place” and loved for her family and friends to spend time there on the water with her.
She will be missed by so many. We love you Tricia and WAR EAGLE!!
A Memorial Celebration of Life will be on Thursday, November 21, 2019. Visitation will be at 10 AM and the service at 11AM.
