Peggy Prickett

Peggy Joyce Lewis Prickett, age 90 of Homewood, passed away peacefully at home. Peggy worked as a dental hygienist, a bookkeeper, and was co-owner of Little Originals childrens clothing store. She was a long-time member of Dawson Memorial Baptist Church.

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years Robert H. Prickett, Jr., four sisters, and one brother. She is survived by her daughters Jennifer Prickett Littleton, Wendy Prickett Ellison (Jack), and Robbie Joyce Prickett; grandchildren Meghan Sims Weeks (Bradford), Robert Parker Littleton, and Blakely Joy Ellison; great grandchildren Ryland Anderson Hu and Avery Claire Hu; siblings Faye Baggett Barrett, Jerry Baggett Williams, and John Baggett (Wendy); and many nieces and nephews. Peggy is also survived by her fur babies “Precious Angel Boy” Frankie and “Tadpole” Ellie.

Peggy, known as Grams, and Bob loved to travel. They went on numerous trips with church groups after they retired. She was also known as Mom Prickett to many college students that she welcomed into their home for home cooked meals, parties, laundry, study time, a listening ear, and anything else they needed while away at school.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. with the funeral service following at 2:00 p.m. at Ridout’s Valley Chapel. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery. Social distancing and masks required. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Dawson Chapel Choir.
