

of Hoover, passed away on June 17, 2012 at the age of 89. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Frances Lowry Bellows; his sons, Robert Walker Bellows, Jr. (Susan) and William Lowry Bellows (Jan); granddaughters Keri Harrison (Scott) and Katie Pearson (Matt); and four great grandsons.
Mr. Bellows was a native of Birmingham and a graduate of Phillips High School. He served as a flight engineer in the Army Air Corps during World War II. After a career in sales, Mr. Bellows founded Bellows-Evans, Inc., in 1970, becoming one of the most successful appliance distributors in Alabama. His vision continues as Kitchen Distributors, Inc. Mr. Bellows was a longtime active member of Bluff Park United Methodist Church where he served as the first president of the Opportunity Sunday School Class and a member of the Board of Stewards. He was a member of several community and civic organizations.
A memorial service will be held at Bluff Park United Methodist Church on Tuesday, June 19 at 11:00 am with visitation beginning at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Building Fund at Bluff Park United Methodist Church.
