He was born in Birmingham on March 24, 1945 to the late Joel Franklin Armstrong and Idell Bullock Armstrong. Bob spent his life in Cahaba Heights where he owned and operated Armstrong BP Gas Station and Armstrong Automotive Repair. Bob was a long time member, deacon and trustee of Cahaba Heights Baptist Church. He never met anyone who he didn’t ask “do you know Jesus?” He was a valued business owner in the Cahaba Heights community and many customers and friends would come sit and visit with him for hours. He loved being in the outdoors and enjoyed sharing his passion for hunting with many family and friends. Bob's lasting legacy is his passion for Jesus, his caring heart for others and his tender spirit. He will be greatly missed.
Bob is survived by his devoted loving bride of 56 years, Judith Bearden Armstrong. He was a loving father to Robby (Sandi) Armstrong, Julie (Billy) Tapscott, Joel (Julie) Armstrong. His grandkids Sam (Cassidy) Armstrong, Rebe Armstrong, Emily Armstrong (Jack Reed), Caroline Armstrong, Sophia Armstrong, William (Delaney) Tapscott, Duncan Tapscott, Caitlin Goris and Addison Armstrong and his great granddaughter Abigail Armstrong were the light of his life.
