

Robert was born on August 4, 1950, in Memphis, Tennessee. He graduated from Whitehaven High School and later attended Memphis State University (now the University of Memphis), where he studied Business. Following his studies, Robert proudly served his country in the United States Army for three years, followed by an additional three years in the Army Reserves.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis Homer Keene, Jr., and Phyllis Mattson Keene. He is survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth “Lizzie” Stevenson; his daughter, Shannon Keene Jensen (Tim) of Helena, Alabama; his sons, Kristopher Ryan Keene and Robert Wesley Keene, both of Memphis, Tennessee; and his cherished grandchildren, Emma Jensen and Jack Jensen of Helena, Alabama, and Lily Hatchett and Kayla Keene of Memphis, Tennessee. He is also survived by his brothers, Gary Keene (Pat) and Donald Keene (Sally), both of Southaven, Mississippi; his sister, Barbara Keene Bain (David) of Hernando, Mississippi; a loving extended family that includes one niece and several nephews; and his faithful companion dog, Olivia.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Ridout’s Valley Chapel in Homewood, Alabama. A private burial service for immediate family will take place at the Alabama National Veteran’s Cemetery in Montevallo, Alabama.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to Two-by-Two Rescue in Helena, Alabama, or to a charity of your choice.
