Robert Hagins Tyler

Robert was a faithful member of Dawson Memorial Baptist Church for many years. He graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1943 and was one of the original members of the Warblers Club, which is a men's choral group at Woodlawn. Robert served in the United States Navy during World War II. He retired from Bellsouth after 42 years of service.

Robert was preceded in death by his loving wife of 75 years Clara Tyler and his parents. He is survied by his children:Betty Tyler Wooten, Shirley Tyler Singleton and Edward Luther Tyler (Denise);

12 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and by a host of family members and friends that will sadly miss him.

A visitation for Robert will be held Friday, November 24, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Ridout's Valley Chapel, 1800 Oxmoor Road, Homewood, AL 35209. Following the visitation will be a graveside service from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at Forest Hill Cemetery, 431 60th St. N., Birmingham, AL 35212.
