Roger D Wilson

A man of steady faith and deeply cherished by those who knew him, Roger lived a life marked by devotion—to his family, to his country, and to the work set before him.

Roger served in the United States Air Force and was stationed in South Carolina, Japan, California, Alaska and Italy, assignments that opened the world to him and allowed him to travel widely with his wife, Pat. Roger and Pat have lived in Hoover, Alabama since 1989. He later retired from the Birmingham Post Office, where he served as the District Manager of Consumer Affairs.

Roger found joy in music, playing the organ, piano, and guitar entirely by ear. He also took pride in working with wood, crafting several pieces of furniture by his own hand—lasting reflections of his care, patience, and quiet dedication.

Roger is survived by his wife of 59 years, Patricia Nell Willson; sister, Janice Marie Wilson(Lyndol); sister-in-law, Linda Kay Ireland(Barney); brother-in-law, Howard Williams Pugh(Iris); 7 nieces and nephews; and 10 great nieces and nephews.
