Ted Wesley Butler of Cahaba Heights passed away October 25, 2017 at the age of 77. Although he was born in Kannapolis, North Carolina, he grew up in the Eastlake area of Birmingham. Ted is survived by his wife of 54 years, Peggy Horne Butler, daughters Traci Butler Petsch (Mark) of North Palm Beach, FL and Jennifer Butler West (Joey) of Cahaba Heights, AL; three grandchildren Reese Petsch, Grainger West and Crawford West; and sister, Sue Butler Orr, Florence, SC. Mr. Butler graduated from Woodlawn High School and later Howard College (Samford) where he was in the A Cappella Choir. Ted worked as a sales representative for Republic Steel and finished his 40-year steel sales career with New Process Steel. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who loved organ music and A Cappella choirs, but also loved attending, watching and cheering for University of Alabama football. A Celebration of Life reception will be held Friday, November 3rd from 11:00am – 1:00pm at Ridout’s Valley Chapel in Homewood, AL.
