Wesley Eason passed away unexpectedly on August 30, 2020. He was predeceased by a brother, Jordan Eason. Wesley, despite significant health issues at birth and numerous surgeries, not only survived, but thrived. He earned a regular diploma at Mountain Brook High School and later graduated from The Horizons School, a Birmingham based educational program which promotes successful transition to independent living for young adults with learning disabilities.
Wesley prized his independence and inspired others to “live in the moment,” just as he did every day. He worked at Books-a-Million for twenty years and enjoyed helping his customers navigate the aisles for just the right book. Wesley was a fearless traveller and loved the outdoors. He took particular pleasure driving around the family farm in his Polaris Ranger, taking photographs and sharing his adventures on Facebook. He had an uncanny ability to write extraordinary stories and commentaries. He was a consummate gamer and had gaming friends all over the U.S. He had a terrific sense of humor and his one liners’ were classic. Wesley was a huge supporter of the University of Alabama football and was a member of Mountain Brook Baptist Church.
Wesley loved his family dearly. He is survived by his mother and father, Marty and Marc Eason, sisters, Michelle Kelly (Eric) and Emily Soto (Javi), brother Adam (Lindsay), nieces, Lily and Vivienne Kelly, Emma Eason, Tessa Soto, and nephew Parker Eason.
A service honoring Wesley’s life will be held on Friday, September 4th at 11:00 a.m. in Ridout’s Valley Chapel, 1800 Oxmoor Road in Homewood with visitation one hour prior. Social distancing will be observed and masks will be required. Burial will be private.
Memorials may be directed to: Horizons School, 2018 15th Avenue South Birmingham, AL. 35205 or The Exceptional Foundation 1616 Oxmoor Road Homewood, AL. 35209
