William Luther Jones, age 65, of Birmingham died on August 5, 2014.A resident of Partlow, Glen Ireland and most recently of the Arc of Jefferson County. He was an avid fan of Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash. His favorite songs were “Happy Birthday” and “You Ain ’t Nothing But A Hound Dog”. He enjoyed playing the guitar and performing Karaoke.
He was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Wilbur W. Jones and brother, Mr. Jonathan Howard Jones. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Sarah C. Jones; sister, Ms. Sally Sue Jones; aunts, Mrs. Mary Alyce Sanders and Mrs. Polly J. Gibson along with a host of cousins and extended family at the Arc. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 8, 2014 from 4 to 6 in the Edgewood Parlor at Ridout’s Valley Chapel in Homewood. Funeral service will Saturday, August 9, 2014 at 1:30 at Valley Chapel followed by burial at Elmwood Cemetery.
