

Sgt. McCall retired from the Mountain Brook Police Department in 1992 after 25 years of service and was a member of the United States Army Reserve. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church formerly Oakmont United Methodist Church. Bill was very active in Masonic work. He joined Shades Valley Lodge in 1978 and served as Master in 1982 and served as treasurer for many years. In Scottish Rite he received the honorary 33rd degree in 2011, and was also active in the Greeters Unit in the Shrine. Bill was also involved in the Scottish Rite Shoe Foundation Program, giving shoes to children in need.
Mr. McCall was preceded in death by his wife Kathy Jean Allison McCall and his sister Jane Cessna Skinner. He is survived by his daughters: Martha Lenore McCall (Victor Lopez) and Frances Elizabeth “Betsy” (David) Rice; grandchildren: Emily McCall Rice, William Alexander Rice, Henry Watson Rice and Mary Claire Rice; step-children: Christopher (Reagan) Whitfield and Allison Hamilton; step-grandchildren: Kelsey Fick, Devon Hamilton, Tyler Whitfield, Braelyn Whitfield and Luka Fick. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews Becky Skinner, Robert Skinner, Bill Skinner and Gail Skinner.
The family will receive friends at Ridout’s Valley Chapel on Thursday, December 14, 2017 beginning at 10 am with the funeral service following at 11 am. Graveside services with Masonic Rites will follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
