

William Allen Miller (“Bill”), 63, of Hoover, Alabama passed away on January 11, 2023, surrounded by his family. He was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on November 19, 1959, to Dr. Alex C. Miller and Mrs. Carolyn Tolbert Miller.
After graduating from Shades Valley High School, Bill went on to study Business at the University of Alabama. Bill worked in the insurance and financial planning industries for more than three decades where he spent much of that time in local and state leadership positions. He served as the President of the Birmingham chapter of Health Underwriters and state President of the Alabama Health Underwriters. He was also awarded numerous awards, including the Galloway Award in 1997. Bill built several small businesses during his career, including Miller Financial Services, One on One Enrollment, and Target Investment, Inc.
In 1981, Bill met his wife Donna, and they were married for 39 years. Together they raised four sons, Matt, David, Donald, and Robert.
Bill was active in the Boy Scouts of America where he served in various leadership positions within Troop 69, including Pack Leader and Scout Master for many years. Bill helped usher countless scouts to the rank of Eagle, including three of his sons. Bill enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing in his spare time, and was passionate about University of Alabama athletics.
Bill is preceeded in death by his father, Dr. Alexander C. Miller and son, Matthew T. Miller. Bill is survived by his wife Donna Hornbuckle Miller, his sons David (Melissa), Donald, and Robert as well as his mother, Carolyn Tolbert Miller, sister Holly-Renee Miller, granddaughters Sadie Ann and Scarlett Grace, and a host of loving family and friends.
Visitation will be held at Saint Mark United Methodist Church on Saturday, January 14 at 10am and service following at 11pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Matt Miller Food Pantry, PO Box 215, Millport, AL 35576.
