Willis Eugene Grove, age 90, of Hoover Alabama entered into our Father’s eternal home on August 28, 2024. Services will be held September 21st at 2:00pm in the chapel at Vestavia Hills Methodist Church, with visitation and reception following.
Will was a beloved husband, brother, cherished father and World’s Best Papa. He left this earthly world surrounded in love by his three devoted daughters: Wendy Patrick (Cole), Rev. Sheree Elliott, and Traci Stith (Mike). He will be greeted with open arms by his adoring late wife Doris Bare Grove. He is also survived by his ‘lil sis’, Carolyn Heisley of Marysville, PA, six treasured grandchildren, 4 precious great-grandchildren, as well as many loved nieces and nephews.
Will was known for his kind heart, giving spirit, and strong faith. He was a member of Vestavia Hills United Methodist Church for over 50 years and a recent member of Trinity United Methodist Church where he continued his journey of faith and celebration with the Trinity Singers.
Will never met a stranger. He thoroughly enjoyed all the wonderful friends he made at his new home, The Crossings at Riverchase. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor, positive attitude, love of singing, and his story/joke-telling.
Will had a lifetime of rich experiences including golfing with friends, travels with his wife and family and many hiking trips with his buddies, including the Grand Canyon (5 times), Mount Whitney and numerous National Parks.
Will/Willis/Willie is going to be missed beyond compare by all those fortunate enough to have known him.
Funeral Service Honoring the Life of Willis Grove will be held at Vestavia Hills Methodist Church - Chapel on Saturday, September 21, 2024 beginning at 2:00 p.m. with a reception and visitation following the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to Bethany United Methodist Church, 400 Lansvale St., Marysville, PA 17053, where Will’s faith journey began with his father as pastor and continued to hold a dear place in his heart.
