

Anthony L. "Skip" Staab of Lecanto, FL passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at HCA Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness, FL. He was born in Queens, NY on May 27, 1954 to Anthony and Marguerite (Jones) Staab. He moved to Florida 50 years ago where he met his wife, Barbara. They live on ten acres where they've raised various animals and Skip always had a large vegetable garden. He imparted his love of nature and the outdoors with his sons, Josh and Tim, through his involvement with Scouts and family vacations. They had many camping adventures. Skip was a very friendly, generous, down to earth person. He was proud of his long term sobriety and was always eager to help others. He was a talented, creative artist. He was owner and operator of Skip's Rustic Furniture where he made rustic tables, benches, and stools. He was also a gifted potter, making functional and folk pottery. He displays his mugs, bowls, face jugs, and sponge holders in his shop at Pinetree Pottery. He participated in several Craft Shows in the Ga mountains each year.
Skip was preceded in death by his parents, Peggy Mesick and Anthony Staab; son, Josh Staab; and sister-in-law, Judy Pollock. He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Barbara; son Tim Staab (wife Rosie), Tampa, FL; sister Margie Tyner (husband Ralph), Ocala, FL; sister Beth Lunsford (husband Duane), Stacy, MN; brother-in-law Dan Pollock (wife Geordee), South Abington Township, PA:; brother-in-law Rob Pollock (wife Natalie), Dalton, PA., as well as several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Skip's life will be held at a later date.
