

Carl P. Rose 83, of Homosassa, Fl. died May 23, 2015 at home under the loving care of his wife and Hospice of Citrus County. He was born February 5, 1932 in Providence, R.I. Carl graduated from Pittsfield High School in Pittsfield, MA in 1950 . After serving 4 years in the U.S. Navy, he attended Boston University and obtained a degree in Aeronautical Engineering. In 1959, he began his civilian career with General Dynamics Corp., San Diego, CA. He worked on the Atlas Base Activation Program with assignments in Cheyenne, Wyoming; Spokane,Washington; Santa Maria, California; Omaha, Nebraska and Plattsburg, New York. He began his civil servicecareer with NASA in 1964 assigned to the Centaur Program in San Diego, California. He moved to Pittsfield,MA in 1967 as a Quality Assurance Engineer and retired as the Director of the Program Management Office, Strategic Systems Programs, Pittsfield, MA in 1993. He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, and Sugarmill Woods and Southern Woods Country Clubs. He is survived by his devoted wife Tina; sons Mark (Karen) of Peachtree City, GA, Gregory (Lisa) of Pittsfield, MA, Gary (Nancy) of Scarborough, ME, Eric (Jeanette) of Wenham, MA, daughter Valerie (Steve) of Dalton, MA and step-son Shane Womack (Lisa) of Reston, VA, 10grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter, two brothers and one sister. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church at 10:00 am on Friday, May 29,2015 with Father Ronald Marecki officiating. Burial will follow at Bushnell National Cemetery in Bushnell. Friends will be received from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, May 28, at Saint Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Homosassa.
