Daniel M. “Mike” McCormick, 65, of Crystal River, passed away Tues., April 24, 2012 at his home. A native of Charleston, W.Va., he was born June 26, 1946 to Dillard and Mortana (Griffith) McCormick and moved to Crystal River in 1983 from New Orleans. Mike was a heavy equipment operator by profession; was a member of ABATE and loved motorcycles, especially his Honda Goldwing. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Diane McCormick, Crystal River; brother David McCormick, Sod, W.Va., stepdaughters Lorrie Cutsforth, Tracy Steffenhagen, and Jessica Hensley; stepgrandchildren Amber Lafritz; Stephanie, Jennifer and Codie Cutsforth; Kalissa and Jaiden Hensley and step great grandchildren Elijah and Justin Mosher; two nieces, three nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his only son, The Late Daniel M. McCormick, Jr. in 2007, stepdaughter Deborah Jean Burch, and a sister, The Late Linda Dunlap.
