David J. Minear, age 76, of Homosassa, passed away Thursday, February 9, 2017. He was born in St. Louis, MO on March 16, 1940 to Naomi and John Minear. David graduated college from La Sierra University in Riverside, CA and went on to receive his Master’s degree in Speech Pathology from the University of Denver and his Doctorate of Speech Pathology from the University of Colorado Boulder. He worked for the Veterans Administration Hospital in Denver, CO for several years and was the Head of Speech and Hearing for 25 years at Elmhurst City Hospital in New York City. The final two years of his career were spent at Iona College, New Rochelle, NY. David’s hobbies included boating and classic sports cars. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Gloria Minear and his sister Nancy and her husband Larry Chadwick of Sutter Creek, CA.
