Dorothy L. Baker, 89, of Homosassa, Florida, passed away on Wed., Dec. 19, 2018, in Homosassa. A native of Bentleyville, PA, she was born July 19, 1929 to Clyde and Stella (Croft) Stuler, one of nine children. Dorothy lived in Clearwater, Florida from 1956 to 1986 and was one of the original three "Parkettes" also known as meter maids, employed by the Clearwater Police Dept. Then she became a school bus driver for Pinellas County Schools, a job she held for 23 years, retiring in 1986. Dorothy then moved to Homosassa with her beloved late husband of nearly 65 years, Robert W. Baker, who passed Feb. 10, 2013. Mrs. Baker was a member of First Baptist Church of Crystal River and also served as a volunteer for the Key Training Center. In addition to her husband and parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by six siblings; Myrl, Dick, and Louis Stuler; Lillian Wright, Leona Detre, Jean Merola and an infant sister. She is survived by her three children: Robert M. Baker (wife Paciencia "Paz"), Pamela Castle (husband Dennis), and Cindy Chronabery, all of Homosassa; sister June Duncan, Clearwater, FL; grandchildren Christy, Dennis, Mindy, Denise and Cassie; great grandchildren Karlie, Kaylie, Kelsey, Colby, Courtney, Lonna, Tyler, Dylan, Zachary, Regan and Riley and great great grandchildren Jaxson, Malaki, Alexia, Erin and soon to be born Landon. Friends will be received on Sun., Dec. 23, 2018 from 2:00 to 3:00 P.M. at Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa, Florida, where a celebration of Dorothy's life will commence at 3:00 P.M. with Pastor Tim Lantzy of First Baptist Church of Crystal River officiating.
