Douglas L. Lovett

Douglas L. Lovett, 63, of Homosassa, FL died Friday, October 31, 2014. He was born November 25, 1950 in Dearborn, MI to the late Dorris and Jean Lovett. Doug was a manager with the United States Postal Service when he retired last year and recently moved to Florida.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Cathy Lovett and his step-children Todd Hoverman and Jill Honhera (husband Adam). He was also preceded in death by his sister he adored, Linda Lovett.

Doug loved to cook, play golf, garden, ride his bicycle (rode the DALMAC with son-in-law Adam this past Labor Day), and listen to and play music. Doug was an avid reader including the daily New York Times. He was proud of the time he spent at Interlochen Center for the Arts, Tanglewood and the Manhattan School of Music. With the encouragement of his wife, Doug became a devoted Michigan State Spartan and attended the 2014 Rose Bowl.

The family will receive friends from 9 to 11 a.m., Thursday Nov. 20 at RG & GR Harris Funeral Home, 15451 Farmington Rd, Livonia, Michigan 48154. A memorial service of remembrance will follow visitation. Memorial donations in Doug’s’ name can be made to the American Cancer Society.
