Francinia "Fran" Peacock Hettinger

Francinia Peacock Hettinger, 64, of Homosassa and formerly of Ocala and Lake Okeechobee, Florida, passed away on Wed., April 28, 2021 at Bayfront Health Seven Rivers Hospital in Crystal River, Florida. A native of Arcadia, Florida, she was born July 28, 1956 to Lee Roy and Mary (DeStefano) Peacock, one of six children. Mrs. Hettinger was certified nursing assistant for Hospice, but also loved her job as a former lock tender caring for the spillway and waterway going in and out of Lake Okeechobee. Fran, as she was known to many, moved to Homosassa two years ago from Ocala, where she had lived for five years after moving there from Lake Okeechobee. A Baptist by faith, Fran loved boating and fishing and her favorite show on television was the fantasy vampire thriller, The Originals, which aired originally on the CW. Fran loved spending time with her family, and her perfect day would include fishing with her grandchildren. She loved country music and her favorite color was purple. In addition to her parents, Fran was preceded in death by her loving boyfriend Claude “Tennessee” Gouge; her subsequent late husband Bobby Hettinger; infant son Olan and her two brothers, Darren and Forest Peacock. She is survived by her five children: Angie Wells (Jimmy), Arcadia, Florida; Olen Lanier (wife Cathy), Biloxi, MS; Jay Peacock (wife Crissie), Ocala, FL; Joseph and Catherine Peacock, both of Homosassa, FL; former husband Kerry Hull, also of Homosassa; sister Reba Williams (husband Mike) and brother Anthony Peacock, both of Arcadia, Florida and brother Richard Peacock, Homosassa, Florida; many grandchildren, several great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Family and friends will gather to celebrate Fran’s life on Sat., May 8, 2021 from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. at Wilder Funeral Home, 4890 S. Suncoast Blvd., Homosassa, Florida 34446.
