Francis "Frank" Vendel, 79, of Beverly Hills, FL., passed away on December 8, 2011 at Hospice of Citrus County Care Unit, Inverness, FL. A native of Romania, he was born February 19, 1932 to Nicolae and Elisabeth (Breznay) Vendel and moved to the Chicago, Ill. area at the age of 16. Frank was a lifelong tool and die maker in a number of manufacturing industries, and moved to Beverly Hills 17 years ago from Arlington Heights, Ill. Mr. Vendel was a member of Rainbow Springs Missionary Alliance in Dunnellon, FL and was a ten year member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxilliary Homosassa Flotilla, in keeping with his love of boating. Frank is survived by his wife of 16 years, Annie Vendel of Beverly Hills, FL; brother Nikolaus Vendel of Dayton, Ohio and two nephews. www.wilderfuneral.com
