Janet Louise Kennedy

Janet Louise Kennedy, 81, of Homosassa, FL, passed away on March 11, 2026 at HCA Florida Bayonet Point Hospital. Born in Glen Ridge, NJ, on January 2, 1945 to Clifford and Olive Wester, Janet earned her Bachelor of Arts from William Paterson College and had a long, fulfilling career as a CPA. She moved to Homosassa, Florida in 2003 with her husband of 57 years, Dennis M. Kennedy, who survives her.

Janet enjoyed poker nights and bowling with her card group in New Jersey, gardening, cooking, and especially spending time with her family and grandchildren. Her most perfect days were during family reunions on the Jersey shore, at the Outer Banks, or in Massachusetts for Christmas when all the grandchildren were together.

Janet is survived by her two children: Danielle Kennedy Redfern and her sons Jackson Redfern and Parker Redfern of Northborough MA, and Maureen Kennedy and husband Leroy Smith, their children Krista Smith and Zachary Smith, of Oak Ridge, NJ, as well as her brother Russell Wester (wife Teri), of Clemson, SC and sister Patricia Stefan (husband Lou), of Wall Township, NJ. She was cherished and loved by her sister-in-law Margaret Kennedy of Merritt Island, FL, brother-in-law Alan Kennedy of Hollywood, SC, her nephew Jason Kennedy who took special care, his wife Michelle, and their daughter Kate, of Merritt Island, FL and several beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins as well as many dear, dear friends.
