

John D. “Jack” Grinnan, 89, of Homosassa, passed away on Fri., Jan. 10, 2014 at Seven Rivers Regional Medical Center. A native of Manoa, PA, he was born Dec. 4, 1924 to Leo and Frances (McCalla) Grinnan, one of four children. Jack, as he was known to many, was a retired regional sales manager in the textile industry. His career spanned 37 years with Perfect Fit Industries of New York, NY and he moved to Homosassa in 1989 from Pompton Lakes, NJ. Mr. Grinnan was a parishioner of St. Thomas The Apostle Catholic Church in Homosassa and a WWII U.S. Army veteran. He fought in the Battle of The Bulge and other campaigns in Europe in service to his country. He loved golf, reading and baseball and was a die hard Boston Red Sox fan. Jack is survived by his wife of nearly 65 years, Shirley Grinnan of Homosassa; son John T. Grinnan, Oswego, ILL; daughter Donna Webster (husband Phillip) of Milford, Virginia and grandchildren Dana and Kristen and yet to be born twin great grandsons due in February, John and Ryan. In addition to his parents, Mr. Grinnan was preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl Rinchiuso, and his three siblings; Thomas and Leo Grinnan and Frances McKeown.
