John D. Richards

John D. Richards, 73, of LaFayette, NY and Homosassa, FL, passed away on Mon., Nov. 30, 2020 at Shands Hospital at University of Florida in Gainesville, FL. A native of Pensacola, FL, he was born June 27, 1947 to Ezekiel and Marie Richards, one of five children. John had been a New York State resident for the past 40 years, and had been wintering in Homosassa for the past 10 years with his loving wife of nearly 14 years, Amy K. Richards, who survives him. John was an avid deerhunter for much of his life in New York, and he also loved fishing, camping and boating. Mr. Richards was a retired foreman for Martisco Paper Mill of Marcellus, NY and was of the Roman Catholic faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two of his siblings, Ruth and Howard. In addition to his wife Amy, John is survived by four children: Sara Richards, Rome, NY; John Richards, Baldwinsville, NY; Megan Henderson, LaFayette, NY and Joel Henderson (wife Katie), Indianapolis, IN; sisters Anita Frederickson of Colorado and Nellie Richards (husband Edmund) of The Villages, FL and grandchildren Hannah Richards, Buffalo, NY and Jack Richards, Baldwinsville, NY.
