June Irene Reed-Bene

June Irene Reed-Bene, 84, of Homosassa, FL, passed away on Fri., May 1, 2015 at Ocala Regional Medical Center, Ocala, FL. A native of New Haven, NY, she was born Feb. 1, 1931 to William [Kenneth] and Hulda (Raymond) Cronk, one of seven children. Mrs. Reed-Bene was a retired production control supervisor for the former Oswego Castings, Inc., Oswego, NY, for whom she worked for many years. June moved to Citrus County in 1997 from Tampa, FL and as a devout Catholic, was a parishioner of Shrine of Our Lady of the Rosary of Fatima and St. Cajetan, Brooksville, FL. Mrs. Reed-Bene is survived by nine children: William Reed (Wife Michele)Oswego, NY; Laurie Schloss (Husband Charles), Lecanto, FL; Ryan Reed (Wife Carol), Fulton, NY; Jeffrey Reed (Wife Reba), Westminster, CO; Daniel Reed (Wife Janet), Oswego, NY; Dr. Michele Bain, M.D. (Husband Alan), Chicago, IL; Stephen Bene (Wife Janet), N. Plainfield, NJ; Yvonne Secure, St. Augustine, FL and Leo C. Bene III, Berkley Heights, NJ.; five siblings: JoAnn Sheikh, Albany, NY; Les Cronk, Yukon, OK; Lyle Cronk, Northway, AK; Allen Cronk, Fairbanks, AK and Reta Kerr, Fulton, NY; 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, June was preceded in death by her two husbands, William Jonathan Henley Reed and Leo C. Bene, Jr., and a brother, Alton Cronk. Friends will be received on Fri., May 8, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa, FL. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Sat., May 9, 2015 at 1:30 P.M. from Shrine of Our Lady of the Rosary of Fatima and St. Cajetan, Brooksville, FL with Fr. James Wright, Celebrant.
