April 30, 1982 – September 24, 2024
With heavy hearts, we announce that Katrina Mae Davis, lovingly known as Katy, entered the gates of heaven on September 24, 2024. Born in Ft. Wayne, IN, on April 30, 1982 to Steve (Jeannine) Gradeless and Lisa Levy Zidlick, she was a cherished sister to Angela, Brandon, Keri, and Aimee. Katy was surrounded by a loving family, including many grandparents, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins who will always remember her sweet, gentle and compassionate nature. She spent her early years in Dublin, OH, where she graduated from Dublin Scioto High School, before making Homosassa, FL, her home.
Katy and Rock’s love story began as high school friends, and it blossomed into a beautiful marriage on April 11, 2004. Together, they built a life filled with love, joy, and raising four wonderful children: Gregory (20), Anastasia (18), Joseph (16), and Victoria (13). She was a patriot; excelling at homeschooling her children and maintaining the household while steadfastly supporting her husband through his numerous Coast Guard deployments.
Katy’s life was a testament to her unwavering dedication to her family and her boundless compassion for others. She created a home where everyone felt loved, accepted, and at peace. Her charitable spirit, bright smile, and passion for helping those in need was truly contagious. She spent a generous amount of time volunteering with numerous organizations including Be the Match, Corsos for Heroes, Good Neighbors, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Marjorie's Hope, Wigs for Kids, and multiple local food pantries, among others, as well as coordinating supply runs to assist those affected by natural disasters throughout the region. Katy’s love extended to her cherished chickens, yorkies, and ever-expanding garden, where she found joy and solace.
Katy had a unique gift for making everyone she met feel special and loved. She was a devoted wife, a nurturing mother, a caring sister, and a beloved daughter. Her newfound faith in Jesus Christ guided her actions as she followed His teachings, feeding the hungry, clothing the needy, comforting the sorrowful, and mourning with those who mourned. Katy’s instinct to help others was immediate, unrelenting, and heartfelt.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, October 22nd, 2024, at 11:00 AM, and visitation will begin at 10:00 AM at Christian Center Church in Homosassa, FL. There will be an opportunity to share your memories and celebrate Katy’s remarkable life if you feel called to speak.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to support them during this trying time as they navigate this new chapter without Katy and seek to continue her works as best they can. Donations can be brought to the service or mailed to the church (attention Davis Funeral) at 7961 West Green Acres St, Homosassa, FL, 34446.
Katy’s legacy of love, kindness, and faith will continue to inspire all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in our hearts.
