

O’Steen, Lloyd Richard,"Dog Trader" 74 of Homosassa, FL, passed away on June 16th, 2017. Lloyd was born in Shired Island, FL to Lloyd Lee O’Steen and Ruby Corbin. Lloyd was a Marine and served three different tours in Vietnam, he was the recipient of a Bronze Star with Valor and a Purple Heart with two stars. Lloyd worked for Florida Power as a welder and retired after 28 years as a supervisor. Lloyd was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Crystal River for 25 years. He loved his church family. He is described by those who have known him as a family man who loved to joke, hunt deer and run his dogs. Lloyd was larger than life and will always be remembered as a hero to his children. Lloyd is survived by his beloved wife of over 55 years, Ada Jean O’Steen. Lloyd also leaves behind his daughter, Donna Jean (Donald) Goodman, sons; Lloyd Richard (Paula) O’Steen Jr., Robert W. (Bunnie) O’Steen and Cary W. (Shauna) O’Steen, granddaughters; Amber Marie O’Steen, Haylea O’Steen and McKenzey O’Steen, grandsons; Leroy (Sandy) Goodman, Caleb (Kayla) Goodman, Travis (Rebecca) Goodman, Lloyd R “Ricky” (Amber) O’Steen III, Scott O’Steen and Levi O’Steen, great-grandchildren; Adam, Dixie, Savanna, Hunter, Ashley, Joshua, Elu, Leah, Rachel, Libertie, Connor, Colton, Mason and Serana. Lloyd is also remembered by his brother from another mother, Cary W Hamilton and best friends, Jim Register and Jerry Poole. Lloyd is preceded in death by his mother and father, sisters Carolyn, Pauline and Loraine, brother Floyd, son Eugene Clarence and great-grandson Aaron Wesley Goodman. A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 22nd, at Bible Baptist Church in Crystal River from 10-11 a.m. with funeral services starting at 11. Military Honors will be held at 2:30 p.m. at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell before he is laid to rest.
