Randolph Allen Gould

Randolph Allen “Al” Gould, 89, of Dunnellon, FL, passed away on Fri., Nov. 17, 2017 at his home. A native of Providence, R.I., he was born April 4, 1928 to Frederick and Charlotte (Greene) Gould, one of two children, and graduated from Attleboro High School (Class of 1946), Attleboro, MA. He then became a certified aircraft mechanic, graduating from Wentworth Technical Institute, Boston, MA. Al, as he was known to many, retired from his position as a maintenance engineer for the Broward County School System in Ft. Lauderdale, where he served the last ten years of his working life. Mr. Gould’s special gift and talent throughout his life was in the world of engines; if it had a motor, Al could fix it. He moved to Florida in 1956, primarily in Ft. Lauderdale, and then finally settling in Dunnellon in mid 1980’s. He also loved fishing and as a retiree followed his passions for both the Honda Goldwing as a charter member of the Rainbow Riders and in radio controlled airplanes as a charter member of the Nature Coast RC’ers, as well as most recently, the Tri-County R/C Club in Dunnellon. Al also held a private pilot’s license. Al is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Rose G. Gould, Dunnellon, FL; son Barry Gould, Clermont, FL; daughter Bette-Jean Nagele, Dunnellon, FL; brother Dale Gould (Kay), Attleboro, MA; granddaughter Bethany Morales (husband Ken), Winter Garden, FL and grandson Brian Nagele, Ocala, FL and great grandchildren Trace and Ashely Nagele, both of North Carolina; great grandson Sawyer Nagele of Ocala, FL and daughter-in-law Diane Smalling, Oviedo, FL. In addition to his parents, Mr. Gould was preceded in death by his son, Robert Allen (Bob) Gould (1989) and a son-in-law, Brandon Nagele (2002). A graveside celebration of Al’s life will be held on Sat., Nov. 25, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Fountains Memorial Park, 5635 W. Green Acres St., Homosassa, FL 34446.
