Robert R. “Bob” Christensen, 81, of Homosassa, Florida, passed away on Tues., Jan. 5, 2021 at Vitas Healthcare in Lecanto, Florida. A native of Geneva, New York, he was born March 13, 1939 to Harold and Edna (Rose) Christensen, one of four children. Bob, as he was known to many, served his country honorably for two years in the United States Air Force and moved to Citrus County in 1973. Mr. Christensen was a real estate broker and developer and was the owner of Key 1 Realty in Homosassa. Bob and Nancy were the first residents of Sugarmill Woods and took great pride in seeing how the community grew over the years and were happy to call it home. Among Mr. Christensen’s passions in life were football, baseball and visiting Las Vegas where he could be found at the poker tables, as well as his love of race horses which led him to becoming a racehorse owner. Bob’s beloved horses could be found competing at Tampa Bay Downs in Tampa, Florida. He was an avid follower of the Miami Hurricanes college football team and the New York Yankees. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a brother, Harold “Buster” Christensen. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Nancy R. Christensen and sons Rob Christensen and Rick Christensen (wife Jennifer), all of Homosassa, Florida; daughter Cathy Matthews (husband Rob) of Orlando, Florida; grandchildren Abigail, Emma, Kalynn, Noah, Drew and Thomas; brother Ray Christensen (wife Jane) of The Villages, Florida and sister Judy Quinn (husband Jack) of Elijay, Georgia.
