

Robert “Preacher Bob” Earl Miller, 71, Homosassa, FL passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2012 at his home in Homosassa, Florida; under the loving care of his wife, Lynn, his family and the tender care of Hospice of Citrus County.
Bob was born August 25, 1940 in Covington, Kentucky to the late Earl Joseph & Mary Catherine “Katy” (Osborne) Miller.
Survivors include his wife of 12 years, Lynn Meyer Miller; daughters, Cathi Tomasovic (Ken Castro) of Sarasota and Anita Saba of Homosassa; son, David (Kellie) Miller of Marietta, Georgia; step-daughters, Kari (Michael) Richards of Lake Wales and Jami (Edward) Horne of Fort Myers; 13 grandchildren & 3 Great-grandchildren; brother Thom (Mary Lou) Miller of Peachtree City, Georgia; and his precious Abby & Shadow.
He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and former first wife, Barbara Redmon Miller.
Bob and his family moved to St. Petersburg/Gulfport, Florida from Kentucky when he was a child. He had many fond memories of “the greatest childhood” fishing with his dad & brother in their small boat out in Boca Ciega Bay. He graduated from Boca Ciega High School and went on to Atlanta Christian College, where he became a Minister of the Gospel Of Jesus Christ. He received his Masters of Theology Degree from Anderson University, in Anderson, Indiana. Preacher Bob served over the past 50 years as Minister of Mt. Zion Christian Church, Live Oak, FL; Associate Minister of First Christian Church, Clearwater, FL; Minister of First Christian Church, Lake Wales, FL; Southside Christian Church, Sarasota, FL and his final ministry at First Christian Church of Homosassa Springs, FL. In the 1970’s, Bob & his family went to New Zealand as missionaries, where he served as minister for 3 years at the Church of Christ in Hokatika and also preached at the Church of Christ in Mataura, New Zealand. Bob also was the Director of Donor Relations for Lake Aurora Christian Camp in Lake Wales prior to moving to Homosassa, and continued to serve the camp during his ministry in Homosassa. Preacher Bob served on the Board of Directors of Alexander Christian Foundation, Family Ministries of Florida and was a member of Kiwanis in Lake Wales.
A celebration of Bob’s life will take place Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at 3:00 pm at the Christian Church in the Wildwood, 10051 Country Rd, Weeki Wachee, FL. Visitation will be prior to the services from 1:00-3:00 pm at the church. Graveside service will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 7, 2012, Lake Wales Cemetery, Lake Wales, Florida. In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions in Bob’s memory to be given to Lake Aurora Christian Camp, 237 Golden Bough Rd., Lake Wales, FL 33898 or Alexamder Christian Foundation, 2565 E. Kaley Ave., Orlando, FL 32806.
