

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Roger Lee Kelso, who left us on December 13, 2023. Roger was born on October 14, 1942, and lived a life full of kindness, dedication, and love.
Roger was a man of many talents and passions. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1964 to 1967. In the 1970s, he founded his own plumbing business, Kelso Plumbing, in Zanesville, Ohio, and became a certified Master Plumber in the state of Ohio. His hard work and dedication to his craft earned him respect and admiration in his community.
Outside of his professional life, Roger was known for his love of golf, which he enjoyed with friends and family. He also cherished deer hunting with his brothers and loved throwing darts, participating in many leagues. His commitment to his community was evident in his active membership in the Moose Club, the Masons, and the Grotto.
Roger’s greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his loving sons, Ricky L. Kelso and Bryan D. Kelso. Ricky’s family includes his late wife, Aimee Kelso, their daughters, Katelyn Kelso and Averie Kelso, and his late son, Brody Kelso. Bryan's family includes his sons Bryan “Alex” Kelso and Kaiden Kelso, and his daughters Kearston Kelso and Skylar Kelso.
Roger also leaves behind his dear siblings: Patricia Snack and her husband Harold Snack, Steven Kelso and his wife Kathy Kelso, Ronald Kelso and his wife Mallory “Sam” Kelso, Archie Kelso and his wife Cindy Kelso, Barbara Thompson and her husband Mike Thompson, and Roy Kelso and his wife Becki. Roger was preceded in death by his father, Vernon Kelso, his mother, Flora “Pearl” (Huntsman) Kelso, his brothers Robert V. Kelso, William “Russel” Kelso, Stanley Kelso, and his sister Bonnie Lou Jenkins.
Roger's life was a testament to the values of hard work, compassion, and integrity. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
A celebration of Roger’s life will be held at Chandlersville School on July 14, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. All family and friends are welcome to come and remember Roger. Please bring a covered dish.
We will forever cherish the memories we have with Roger and find comfort in knowing he is at peace.
