Ronald J. "Jim" Geer

Ronald J. “Jim” Geer, 69, of Beverly Hills, FL, passed away on Sun., Dec. 2, 2018 at Crystal River Health and Rehabilitation Center in Crystal River, FL. A native of Allegheny County, PA., he was born Dec. 8, 1948 to the late Earl and the late Georgetta (Hoover) Geer, one of five children. Jim, as he was known to everyone, was a lifelong pipefitter and served throughout the United States in his profession. He loved motorcycles and many things outdoor related, such as hunting and fishing. Jim also was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Tampa Bay Rays and was known for telling puns, even if they weren’t “punny”. He is survived by his three children: Ronald Geer (wife Melissa), Inverness, FL; Connie Kane (husband Bob), Beverly Hills, FL and Corrina LaPorte (husband Rob), Homosassa, FL; former wife Cathy Geer, Homosassa, FL; siblings Ed Geer of California, Larry Geer of Pennsylvania, John Geer (wife Bernie), Crystal River, FL and Dan Geer of California; grandchildren Shanel, Alexis, Georgia, Rubie, Aly, Garrett, Lily and Tim (wife Rachel) and great grandchildren Owen and Christian, with one great grandchild also on the way, as well as many nieces and nephews. A celebration of Jim’s life will be held on Monday, Dec. 10, 2018 at 5:00 P.M. from Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa, FL. Friends will be received from 4:00 P.M. until time of service.
