Pastor Ronnie F. Hooper, 67, of Homosassa, Florida, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2020 at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness, Florida. A native of Long Beach, California, he was born April 16, 1953 to the late Cecil and Dorothy (Green) Hooper, one of three children. Ronnie graduated from Northwest Bible College in Minot, North Dakota in 1982 with a Bachelor's Degree in Christian Education that led him to a long 38 year ministry in the Church of God. He moved to Homosassa in 2012 from Ferndale, Florida and began his pastoring tenure at Homosassa Church of God, also attaining the status of Bishop. Ronnie passionately enjoyed his lifelong interaction with people and was faithful to feeding the hungry in every community he pastored. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Sharon M. Hooper of Homosassa; two sons: Ryan Franklin Hooper (wife Jaynelle Oyomire) of Gainesville, Florida and Franklin Leon Hooper (wife Traci Lee) of Lehigh Acres, Florida; grandchildren AnnIese Marie Hooper of Gainesville, Florida and Austin Michael, Aubree Michelle and Andrew Mason Hooper, all of Lehigh Acres, Florida and siblings Rev. Gary Hooper (wife Melodee) and Gail Anderson (husband Tom), both of Fargo, North Dakota. Friends will be received at Homosassa Church of God, 8333 W. Bradshaw St., Homosassa, Florida 34448 on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M., where a funeral service of remembrance will be held at 10:00 A.M. with Pastor Ronnie Reid of Crystal River Church of God officiating.
