

Rose M. Bruno, 96, of Homosassa, FL, passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at Sunflower Springs Assisted Living in Homosassa. A native of Greenwich Village in New York City, she was born May 3, 1928 to Giacomo “Jack” and Josephine (Rainero) Cotto, one of two children. Rose and her late husband owned and operated a successful concrete company in North Valley Stream, NY before moving to Sugarmill Woods subdivision in Homosassa 40 years ago. For the past 7 years, she was a resident of Sunflower Springs. Mrs. Bruno was an active parishioner of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Homosassa, where in her earlier years she served on the financial committee and sang in the choir. Her days were devoted to her faith, her family and her beloved pets. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 71 years, Pasquale Bruno, on April 13, 2019, and her twin brother, Anthony A. Cotto (2019). Rose is survived by one nephew and one niece, who were like children to her; Jack Cotto (wife Mary) of Cumming, GA and their daughter Brittany (partner Mike Johnson) of Dania Beach, FL and Vicky Siegel (husband David) of Johns Creek, GA and their son Aaron (wife Sophie) of Sandy Springs, GA. In addition, Rose was close to her cousin, Addy Vada in Salerno, Italy. Friends will be received on Thurs., June 27, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. at Macrini-Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa, where a Catholic Prayer Service will commence at 11:00 AM with Fr. J. Glenn Diaz of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church officiating. Entombment with Catholic Rite of Committal will follow at 11:45 A.M. at Fountains Memorial Park in Homosassa.
