Terrill A. "Terry" Fort

Terrill A. “Terry” Fort, 77, of Cairo, GA and formerly a 47 year resident of Homosassa, FL, passed away on Thurs., Feb. 9, 2023 at Grady General Hospital in Cairo, GA. A native of West Palm Beach, FL, he was born Jan. 18, 1946 to Donald and Laura (Barco) Fort, one of six children. Terry, as he was known to many, moved to Cairo 15 years ago from Homosassa, and was a retired purchasing agent for Vulcan Materials of Brooksville, FL in their Aggregate Division, a career that lasted 34 years. Terry loved fishing, golfing, blue crabbing and oystering, as well as squirrel and quail hunting. His perfect day would most likely involve being out on his boat fishing. Mr. Fort was of the Baptist faith and was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Fort and Laura Yates; his son Christopher Fort and two of his brothers, Lynn and Kipling Fort. Terry is survived by his loving wife of nearly 57 years, Cleo C. Fort; daughters Carol Moon (husband Billy) and Vickie Quigley (husband C.J.); siblings Benny Fort, Jackie Stoddard and Mark Fort; grandchildren Daniel Fort, Amanda Johns (husband Paul) and Matthew Quigley; great grandchildren Elizabeth, Olivia, and Kinzley Johns; Paul Johns, Jr., and Ruby Fort and a host of nieces and nephews.
