

Wayne Evans, 78, of Beverly Hills, passed away on Feb. 24, 2014 at Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast Care Center in Inverness. A native of Allegre, KY, he was born July 26, 1935 to Edward and Gabby (Naylor) Evans. Wayne was a truck driver by profession and retired from Suburban Propane in Citrus County. He was also an ironworker when he was younger. Mr. Evans served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a passionate motorcyclist. Wayne moved to Florida in 1985 from Alpha, NJ and was the former president of the Golden Arrow Motorcycle Club, Phillipsburg, NJ. He was also a deacon of the Southern Baptist Church Convention and a member of the Int’l Brotherhood of Ironworkers, Staten Island, NY. Mr. Evans is survived by sons Wayne Evans (Mary Louise), Easton, PA and Alan Wayne Evans (Sherri Lynn), Scottrun, PA; brothers Montie Moore (Sandy Olah), Nazareth, PA and Robert Evans (Miriam), Phillipsburg, PA; sisters Patricia Ann Evans, Nazareth, PA; Linda Lou Charles (Robert John), Easton, PA and Sharon Kay of Oklahoma; grandchildren Dana, Alyssa, Amber, Jeanine and Madeline and several step grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Wayne was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Wayne Evans (April 12, 1997) and a brother Dennis David Evans. Friends will be received on Sat., March 1st at Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa, from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M., where a celebration of life will take place at 2:00 P.M.
