It's with great sadness that the family of Wayne O. (Spider) Faul announces his passing after a long illness on Monday, November 26, 2018 at 90 years old. Wayne was born in Port Tampa City, Florida to Charles and Addie (Bailey) Faul on March 1, 1928. He attended Westshore Elementary/Jr. High School and Plant High School. He had to drop out of school due to WWII. With his older brothers in the war and his father unable to support the family, Wayne went to work full time to support his mother and sisters. Wayne started as a butcher for Butch Strickland's Market and worked there until 1950. He then went to work for Florida Power Corp. loading barges. In 1970 he transferred to Crystal River, where he worked in the Electric Shops at Unit 1 and 2, and eventually became the Electric Shop Supervisor until his retirement in 1990. He and our mother always made sure we had everything we needed, including much love and good old fashioned discipline. He worked part time delivering fuel oil to residences after working all day. He also cut meat on weekends and drove a taxi to provide for his family. As a young man, Wayne played center field for the Port Tampa City semi-pro ball team. On May 29, 1948, he married Gloria M. Nunn. They raised three children and were married for 63 years. Wayne had been a member of the Masonic Lodge for close to 55 years. In Port Tampa, he worked his way to be Worshipful Master twice. He was also a co-founder of the Springs Masonic Lodge # 378, where he was Worshipful Master in both 1977 and 1978. He is a 32nd Degree Mason and later became a member of the Scottish Rite. Wayne was also known to have loved fishing.
