William B. "Bill" Stallings

William B. “Bill" Stallings III, 76, of Homosassa, FL. passed away on Tues., Oct. 20, 2015 at his home. A native of McKeesport, PA, he was born Oct. 23, 1938 to William Jr. and Virginia (Household) Stallings, one of three children. Mr. Stallings was a retired store manager for Sears and Roebuck Co., a career that spanned 35 years. Bill, as he is known to many, was employed in either sales or in management for Sears locations in Georgia, Mississippi, Florida, and finally Memphis, TN, from where he retired and moved to Homosassa in 1990. He loved the game of golf and was a member of the former Seven Rivers Golf and Country Club, now the Crystal River Golf Club, and was of the Methodist faith. Mr. Stallings is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Elizabeth A. Stallings, Homosassa; son David Stallings (wife Cheryl), Memphis, TN; sisters Beth Leak, Homosassa and Sally White, Palm Harbor, FL; nieces Amanda Gattrell (husband Rob), Inverness, FL and Allison Leak, Hudson, FL; grandchildren Candace Fann (husband Ronnie), Marcus Lavendar(wife Loureen) and Brittany Stallings and great grandchildren Cole, Kaleb, Logen and Zoe. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by a son, Keith Stallings, on August 15, 2009. A memorial celebration of life for Mr. Stallings will be held on Wed., Oct. 28, 2015 at 6:30 P.M. at Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa. Friends will be received from 5:30 P.M. until time of service.
