

William F. “Bill” Stephens, 72, of Homosassa, FL, passed away on Wed., Dec. 16, 2015 at his home. A native of St. Louis, MO, he was born Aug. 5, 1943 to Leslie and Dorothy (Richenbaucher) Stephens, one of four children. Bill, as he was known to many, was a lifelong truck driver and moved here from St. Charles, MO in 1975. He retired from his position as a truck driver for SMG Corp. in 2009 after 18 years of service. Bill was of the Baptist faith and loved fishing the waters of Citrus County. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Judith R. Judy” Stephens, Homosassa; four children: Dawn Simmons (husband Roger), Lecanto, FL; Kelly Waters (husband Todd), Inverness, FL; Sherri Carson and Lisa Stephens, both of Homosassa; brother Dennis Stephens (wife Bobbie) and sister Leslie Stephan (husband Tim), both of St. Louis, MO; 17 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Stephens was preceded in death by a son, Rick Stephens (March 2013) and a brother, Gary Stephens. Friends will be received on Sun., Dec. 20, 2015 at Wilder Funeral Home from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M., where a celebration of Bill’s life will take place on Mon., Dec. 21, 2015 at 12:00 noon with Chaplain Kelly Greenawald officiating.
