Aloha my cousin! It just so happened that you came to mind all of a sudden, and I realized how much I miss you. Thank you again for putting up a good fight to stay with the kids and us for as long as you did. I see a bit of you in all of them and its a beautiful feeling knowing that I just have to see them to see you! I love you!

Dear Mom,
  I never realized how much I would miss you.  I may not be a big ball of mess in front of everyone to see but I find myself in moments wishing to have more time with you. Wanting more time to spend with you and my babies and having you see them grow up. We may not  have had the closest relationship growing up, but I am grateful for what God gave us. Grateful that I could hug you and tell you how much I love you, grateful my babies could do the same. Grateful we could both praise His name and give God all the glory through it all! You will always be the definition of strength and selflessness for me. I've always only wanted one  thing growing up and that was to make you proud. You welcomed me into the family with open arms, a smile, and a kiss from day one and that never changed. You always carried yourself with dignity and pride, while having a playful side at the same time. You never turned down an opportunity to be with your grandchildren, even after a long night's work.       You have been the best Mama ever! I'm happy you have got to watch me grow over the years. I'll always remember that I'm your baby :)  I'm truly blessed to be raised and loved by you, and I'll never forget you. Everything I do is for you, even though you're not here physically, I'll make you happy because I know you're watching over me. You are always the woman I look up to because you are strong and did the best you could for the people you love. I will do the same because that's what you have taught me to do. When I miss you I don't have to go far because you always told me "I'll always be in your heart." You are truly Gods testimony, you've stayed strong through all the battles you went through. Bernie, you'll always be Mom's favorite niece to talk to or bring one of her many filipino dishes that she brings over for you and girls to grind. I remember one time you brought some of her cooking over to work and one of your coworkers asked where did you get it from you responded " Montero's Kitchen in Kalihi, lol it was more funny when they tried looking it up. 
Thank you for all the memories you created with Mom, now you both are reunited up there for more fun. Continue watching over all of us with everyone else up there. Til we meet again, Love you Cuz❤

I had the privilege of working with Bernie for many years at the Hawaii Prince. For years we worked the overnight shift together and enjoyed many many laughs and great cups of espresso. Bernie was always one to make sure that I was doing well and had such wise advice for me. When I moved to Maui Bernie made sure her mom took care of me at KBH. Bernie will always hold a very special place in my heart. I look forward to meeting her in Heaven!

We are so thankful for the love that Aunty Bernie showed us. She took our family in and took care of Elisa like she was her own granddaughter. No matter that she worked the night shift, she was always there to watch Elisa during the day. We wish that we could've seen you one more time, showed you how big Elisa has gotten, and thanked you yet again. We'll always be so grateful to you for making us feel like your ohana. We love you Aunty.

Honestly, I don't know where to start, but I guess I will start with a "THANK YOU"...THANK YOU for watching over me as a kid, flying back and forth to Honolulu and Maui...THANK YOU for your UNCONDITIONAL LOVE and CARING NATURE...There is so much to be thankful for but what I'm most grateful for is the precious time we were able to spend with you...I'll always remember our last conversation...It's hard to say goodbye so I'll say until we meet again...You will always be SPECIAL to me...I LOVE YOU Cousin Bernie...

You continued to possess humility and poise while facing adversity, and always for the kids. Your life is a testimony of His unconditional love for us. From the moment you found out I moved to Oahu you have been there for me and my family through thick and thin! Every holiday, birthday & special occasion we spent it together as a family, and those memories will never be forgotten ! I will forever be grateful for you being there to babysit my boys when I needed you most and being their "Mama Bernie". You treated them and loved them like they were your own  mo'opuna. Every time we stopped by to see you, even if it was for a quick hello you never let us leave without eating. You taught me the meaning of being a strong mother and what it's like to always put  our babies first. I wish more than anything I could have gotten one  more hug from you but I know you are in a much better place, no longer in pain and finally reunited with all our loved ones up in that mansion in the sky! I love you so much and miss you tremendously. Please continue to guide and watch over our 'Ohana.

I will always remember auntie bernie as a loving and hardworking mom and auntie. It was a nice feeling knowing I had family living a couple houses down the street when I first moved to oahu 17 years ago! We would catch the same bus and share convos during our commute. May she rest in eternal love and light! My deepest condolences and prayers are with you all.

Though  we went  our separate  ways , I have still thought  of  you  as my sister in law .   Through  think and thin I remember always being  able to talk to you. May the angels unite you with mom and your brothers ,  you will truly  be   missed.

So many fond memories to remember you with.  My most fondest memory of you will definitely be you standing by me and always by my side.  You were more than an Aunty to me, you were my second Mom, always knew what to say.  I looked up to you and will forever look up to you.  You've shown me the true strength of being a single Mom and I've learned so much from you.
Thank you for the laughs, being there for our family especially when Dad passed, showing us what true strength was through all of your adversities and Loving me and my daughter as if we were one of your own.
