How well I remember this loving father who brought his sweet infant to University classes. Our hearts smile………..
We know the Lord remains close to you both these many years. You are blessed indeed!




I worked with Brent at Oceanic for over 20 years and our desks were right next to each other, just separated by a partition.  Although we were only feet apart, we had different shifts but I had the pleasure of seeing him for an hour or so when our shifts would intersect over the weekends.

Our conversation was mainly about work and the live games but I did get to know about his passion of travel and photography.  He always had a picture of his daughter at his desk.

I learned of Brent’s passing on Friday and couldn’t believe it.  He was too young.  Brent was easy going with a sense of humor.  Rest peacefully, Brent!  

For anyone who wants to see some of Brent's photography... he was really great at capturing the beauty of Hawai'i and other parts of the world..

Brent wrote this on his Facebook page in 2012, and it describes his spirit well:

 "Smooth like water falling over a worn rock in a stream. I used to want to be the rock in the middle of a fast moving river. But why be an immovable object? Instead I thought it would be better to be the fast flowing stream, going places. The rock is a good thing and stalwart in its strength. Its smooth edges honed by eons of movement. Always strong and always there for a firm grip when someone needs to cross the fast flowing stream. God portrays himself as the rock. But thinking about the fast flowing stream… it moves and changes. Always a fast flowing stream it can redefine itself over again. Clear and cool… clean and flowing.
I was the rock. Now I am the stream. Bringing life to the plains. Life to those in the rice fields and for the children playing in the endless run of flow and feel.
Dip your hand into the water and grasp hold of the rock. Feeling the steady hold and the swift movement and slowly immerse oneself into the flow."

Brent was an incredible person I feel really lucky to have known since the 8th grade, when I met him in the intermediate library, checking out the Peanuts books.  Bremt had a great sense of humor and always seemed to be laughing. We used to play cards in a group of classmates waiting for the bus on campus in the 9th and 10th grade. He was super funny and a really good guitarist. I could relate to him cause we both went to Kamehameha on scholarship, and he worked off his hours by volunteering for our high school guitar teacher, who taught him how to play.  He got to show off his skills at Brown Bags To Stardom in a rock band onstage. Brent was somehow able to ace his AP classes despite spending many hours surfing at Sandy's and never studying.  I don't know how he did it. He graduated from UH and worked for Oceanic cable for something like 2 decades. Brent was a free spirit and a really funny, interesting guy. So many people loved him. He had a lot of fond memories with his high school buddies Ron and Garid.  Brent traveled to Bali and really loved the free spirited culture there. He was super stoked that his brother Paul gave him his guitar recently, that meant a lot to him.  Brent was proud of his daughter and always wanted her to have a good life.  He told me once that when he dies one day, he wants to leave a bench that people can sit on, and give them a place to rest.  That was so like him. He was very connected to the earth, but not earthly possessions.  Brent was a giving soul, donating money and clothes to homeless people and he even let a few move into his place when they needed to get off the street. Brent is the kind of guy who really would give someone the shirt off their back. 

Everybody loved him and he will surely be missed.  He really did make the world a brighter place.

Brent wrote something on his Facebook page in 2012 that I thought was worth sharing. It won't fit in this post so I will try to post it separately if I am able to.

My deepest condolences to the Rosenberg family. I went to school at KS with Brent, and remember him being so kind, friendly and funny. He always put a smile on my face whenever I saw him. RIL braddah. ❤  Until we meet again. Sending my love and aloha to you all.

My deep condolences to you and your family Randall on the recent passing of your brother, Brent.   You did everything and more you could do to support him during his illness. I am sure he knew that.
