I knew Dan when we were both stationed at PACOM in Hawaii.  He was a great guy and we worked well together.  I just saw this and wanted to share this with his wife, Indira and their family.

Danny, What great times we all had after you all moved in on Nora St. All the "things" we did! You, Dick, Tim and I. What great memories. Trips on Greyhound, Movies, not to mention the other things we swore not to talk about!

Your words had a way of being subtle but loud. You spoke little but what you said  meant a lot. And yes, that dry sense of humour coupled with your sarcasm left a lot of people thinking. I love those qualities and how you delivered them. While you may be physically gone, your spirit will forever live on in all our hearts.

The news of your passing was such a shock to me. I will always remember your unique outlook on life and your enjoyment of people... I feel lucky to have the memories of our time together. I will cherish them fondly.

Danny I miss and love you very much. I will cherish our wonderful memories together as a family. You were more like a son rather than a son-in-law and i shall miss you very much. I love you....

The hearts of your Canadian family will be heavy for a very long time.  Dan, we'll miss the warm smile and gentle manner we've come to know and love.  The essence of you lives on in my beautiful cousin Indira and through the bright ripples of family and friends.  We honour your life with love and admiration.

There is a power greater than I am. I know that power lived in you. You lived your life with purpose and appreciation each day and displayed it every day through your actions towards family and friends. I felt it every night before going to sleep. My friend Danny,
It was a great day when you walked into Mrs Sherman's 6th grade class room(almost 60 years ago) wearing your levi jacket looking like James Dean. We became joined at the hip and formed our own little rat pack, Larry, Tim, Sonny, you and I.The Sparks home (my 2nd family)was always a place to hang out, and there was always food,and something cold to drink, I remember it well. Man, we had a lot of fun throughout the years including our runaway adventures, especially the one in the 54 Mercury, do you remember the navy hitch hiker we picked up,I bet he was never the same after riding with us.It was only fitting that you joined the navy. I am proud to have had you as a friend for all these years. I salute you and Miss you,

I've lost my best friend, confidant and all around great golfing buddy.  I miss you, but you'll always be in my heart forever.  Until we meet again in that great golf course in the sky, please practice and continue to help me out of the sand traps, down here and when I get up there!
