

David Villar, of Pearl City, Hawaii passed away peacefully on May 3, 2023 at the age of 86. David was born in Waipahu, Hawaii to Nicholas Apuan and Gabina Baldovi Villar. He was a graduate at Waipahu High School, Class of 1954.
In 1959, David enlisted in the United States Air Force. During his 23 years of active duty, he served in California, Wyoming, Michigan, Japan, Delaware, Okinawa, and Vietnam. After traveling the world while enlisted, David returned home to Hawaii and was stationed at Hickam Air Force Base. He retired from the US Air Force in 1979. In 2006, David retired from federal service after 26 years as a Material Handler at Pearl Harbor.
David was an avid volleyball player and considered the 9th island (Las Vegas) his second home. He often traveled to Las Vegas 4 to 5 times a year.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Rose Villar, sons Greg Pangacian and Wayne (Jennifer) Pangacian, Sister Nora Ambrocio, 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters Rosita Gambol, Mary Duran, Dolores Villar and brother Benjamin Villar.
A visitation for David will be held on Friday May 26, 2023 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at Borthwick Mortuary Mauka Chapel, 1330 Maunakea Street, Honolulu HI 96817. A service to follow at 10:00 am. Burial will be on Friday May 26, 2023 at 1:00 pm at National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, 2177 Puowaina Drive, Honolulu, HI 96813.
