In the journey of love and family, Eugene met his beautiful wife, Elizabeth Ruth Jacinth. Their union was blessed with the joy of three children: Darrick Rodrigues, Roland Rodrigues, and Lisa Castro. The Rodrigues household was very happy and full of promise for the future.
However life took another poignant turn in 1965 when Eugene suffered the profound loss of his beloved wife, Elizabeth. The void left by her departure was immense, with three children ages 4, 2, and 4 months, Eugene faced the challenge of raising their children with strength, determination and the help and love of the children's grandmother, Mary Jacinth. Despite the hardships, he remained a pillar of support for his family, proving that love endures even in the face of adversity.
And love would endure once again, when fate smiled upon him, as he found his undeniable soulmate, Janice Chung, accompanied by stepson Blaine Chung. The warmth of their blended family enriching his life with love and renewal.
Eugene was a man of strong convictions, displaying an unwavering commitment to his principles. Living to the remarkable age of 91, Eugene witnessed a world that evolved around him, yet he remained steadfast in his beliefs. His upbringing in a time where right and wrong were clear distinctions left an indelible mark on his character.
Eugene's commitment extended to family, where his convictions translated into a steadfast protector and provider. His legacy encompasses nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, a testament to the enduring love and bonds he cultivated across generations.
Professionally, Eugene dedicated 28 years of his life to Young Brothers, culminating in the role of Forklift Shop Maintenance Supervisor. His tenure was marked by a work ethic that mirrored the values he held in his personal life - dedication, integrity, and a commitment to excellence.
