
She was the oldest of nine children born to Sarah K. Swift and Thomas C. Hardy II. She attended Jefferson Elementary School in Waikiki and graduated from Saint Francis Convent School 1952.
She is predeceased by husband: Clement M. Padeken Sr., son: Clement M. Padeken Jr.; siblings: Allan (Lani) Hardy; Laelia (Benjamin) Kamaunu; Gaillee Berger.
She is survived by daughter, Saralyn Padeken of Volcano, Hawai’i, daughter-in-law Julyne Padeken of Ka’a’awa, grandchildren: Ka’owaka and Keala (Puamana) Deal of Volcano; Kanani Padeken and Kanoelani (Cameron) Rillamas of Ka’a’awa; great grandchildren: Lucas Manipon, Kealaloa and Kalikoaloha Deal, and Lily Rillamas; siblings: Melvin (Phyllis) Hardy of Honolulu; Edmund (Carol) Hardy of Portland, OR; Mililani (Franklin) Hopkins of Kea’au; Melanie Gibb of Des Moines, IA and Thomas C. Hardy III of Ka’a’awa.
Upon graduation Frances went to work at Hawaiian Tel Com, then the Hawai’i State Hospital as a telephone switchboard operator. During those years she was able to establish life-long friendships with many that she cherished.
