She was born and raised in Kalihi and graduated from W.R. Farrington High school.
Gladys was employed by the State of Hawaii Department of Education, for 50+ years; working at Lanakila, Kaʻiulani, and Kalihi Waena Elementary as an Educational Assistant.
She is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Gladys is survived by her 6 children, Colleen (Joseph) Uʻahinui, Brenda Shiroma, Annette (Bradford) Choy, William Shiroma, Jaime (Michael) Shih and Janel (Alex) Unabia; 6 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband James A. Shiroma.
Memorial services will be held on October 26, 2024 at Borthwick Maunakea Chapel. Public viewing begins at 10:30am with service program to begin at 11:15am.
