Born on February 17, 1950 to Daniel Kalaho’olewa Kamanao and Cecilia Vivian Kuulei Harvest in Honolulu, Hawai’i.
Glen lived a life defined by service, strength, and aloha. Drafted into the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, he courageously served three consecutive tours overseas—an act of extraordinary dedication that reflected his deep sense of duty and resilience. After returning home, he continued his education, earning a bachelor’s degree from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, and went on to serve his country and community with honor throughout his career.
Glen retired as a Chief Warrant Officer 4 from the U.S. Army Reserves and also as a Sergeant with the Honolulu Police Department, where his leadership, integrity, and calm presence earned the respect of all who served alongside him.
Beyond his years in uniform, Glen found joy in simple pleasures—fishing, golfing, and riding his motorcycle. He had a serious nature, yet a sharp sense of humor and a heart full of love for his ʻohana. To those who knew him, he was steadfast and kind—a man who led by quiet example and whose presence made others feel safe, seen, and cared for.
Glen is survived by his wife, Phanomrat, daughters Kanoe (Kekama) Emmsley and Kawena (Philip) Elisara, sons John Keawe Sr., Travis Choy, and Lucas Choy; and his cherished grandchildren Pohai, Kukea, Lei, Lewa, Shay, Nawai, Niueni, Kahale, Eliʻa, Naʻale, Auʻaeʻa, Tuasivi, John Jr., Isaiah, Roman, and Milena-Rose. To include 4 great grandchildren.
