We are so grateful for your outpouring aloha and prayers at this time of great loss of passing of Our Grand Aunty, Happy Ahukiniala'a Kamauoha Tauali'i 93 of Lā'ie Hawai'i. Born on January 1, 1930 in the Territory of Hawai'i. 💯 Kanaka o iwi.
She was a proud Graduate of Kahuku High & Intermediate School, Class of 1950. RR4L
She was a cheerleader, played basketball, volleyball and loved to dance hula at hukilau bay before the Polynesian culture center was built to share and show to all that traveled to this beautiful place of Lā'ie. She loved dancing jitterbug, swing and rock 'n ' roll dance. She competed back in her younger days at old LDS dance hall near Sam Store. She was very athletic, strong, loving, independent, powerful, loving and a true Mana Wahine💜💪🏽
Her first job was at the age of 15, in the summer of 1945. At Dole cannery as a pineapple picker at the wahiawa location. That lasted 1 year, due to the hot sun. In 1946 she transferred to honolulu cannery as a Packer Inspector where she continued on, until she retired in 1991. She was blessed to work side by side with her mother at dole cannery for many years.
She passed away peacefully surrounded by all her ohana in her home with so much love on Wednesday February 1, 2023 at 11:19pm.
