
Honolulu, Hawaii. He was one of five children of Francis Barclay Jordan and Katherine Suzanne Binsfield.
He attended Rockhurst High School and Rockhurst College in Kansas City and graduated with a BSBA in
Accounting and Economics. He married the love of his life, Rosemary Heilman, on August 11, 1956. He
started his U.S. Navy career as an Ensign and attended OCS in Rhode Island. While on active duty, he
served two years stationed at NAS Agana, Guam. He retired at NAS Olathe after 20 years of service with
the rank of Commander. His business background was as a grain commodities broker and he served as
Chairman of the Board for the Kansas City Board of Trade.
He is survived by his wife, two sons: James B. Jordan Jr./Katy, Jon Jordan/Rose, three daughters, Janet
Gorman/Jim, Jennifer Carr/Bill and Karen Jordan, who predeceased him. He also leaves behind 9
grandchildren who loved him dearly: Jimmy, Tom, Nick, Ross, Emily, Elizabeth, Stephen, Erin, and Annie.
He leaves behind three sisters, Patsy, Mary Ann and Susan and is predeceased by his brother, Barclay.
While living in Guam, Kansas City and Honolulu, Jim and Rosemary made many lifelong friends very dear
to their hearts. They have many great memories of fun times shared with family and friends.
He wants everyone to know: “I REALLY had a good time!”
