Jeanette Vesey West, age 95, quietly passed on May 9, 2016 in her home. Jeanette was born in Hope, Arkansas to Robert Hale and Effie Bridewell Vesey. Being the child of a U.S. cavalry officer, Jeanette spent her early life at cavalry posts throughout the country and in the Philippine Islands. In Manila, she met Lt. Kenneth West, U.S.N. They were married in Honolulu in May 1941.
After the war, they moved to various duty stations and retired in Honolulu, where they lived for the remainder of their lives together. Jeanette continued to live in Honolulu, after Kenneth’s death in 2004.
Jeanette is survived by sons Dan West, John West, and daughter Gretchen West. Jeanette was proud of grandchildren Robyn West Ramsdill and Melissa West and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on May 21, 2016 at the family's residence at 2:00pm.
